Nathan Grider
Ponds’ management
Nathan specializes in caring for the Ponds and Fish. Nathan was heavily recruited to join the Board, as no one on prior Boards had the technical expertise to truly manage the ponds and the fish. The Board did its best, but Nathan was a gift to our community. Just prior to moving to Cobblestone in 2021 Nathan approached the Board President saying “I have a lot of interest and experience in pond and fisheries management.” She responded with “Do I have an opportunity for you.” The at-tention to our ponds and fish is the result!
Nathan resides on Ginger Creek with his wife and two daughters. He earned an M.S. in Biology from the University of Illinois, Springfield with a focus in ecology. He has been employed with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) as a fish and wildlife biologist and administrator for the past 13+ years. He is an avid conservationist and outdoors enthusiast. He previously operated a part-time private pond management company called “Pond Eco-management” in Central Illinois where he served as a consultant to private pond owners and HOA’s. His greatest reward in doing this is seeing neighbors, especially the kids, fishing in the ponds. Besides the outdoor activities in his free time, he helps his wife run her small business, Appearances Salon and Retreat in Spring-field.
